Habitat for Humanity Nicaragua is a non-profit organization (NPO) that specialized in housing. As part of our social commitment, since our founding 37 years ago, our work has focused on supporting the most vulnerable groups of society, ensuring that they have a decent place to live.

In this long journey, we have had the support of individual donors and above all, companies committed to the development of Nicaraguan families, who from their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, have supported the cause through donations or by volunteering.

In the last 10 years, we have diversified the way we work. We adapt to the needs of the families, building seed housing modules, which allow them to make annexes or improvements when the economy allows them to do so.

And because we know that housing and health go hand in hand, we work to help families replace their traditional latrines with eco-toilets, which do not pollute the aquifers.

We have supported women who make tortillas by building eco-stoves that optimize production, reduce costs, and above all, do not generate smoke, so we take care of the health of families and the environment.

We reinvent ourselves in each project because we know that the world is changing rapidly and that our planet needs sustainable and above all eco-friendly construction solutions.

How to collaborate with us?

If your company is interested in supporting the cause of decent housing, you can do so in the following ways:

Contribute to a new or existing project: Habitat Nicaragua works in alliance with companies for the development of projects of mutual interest. The projects are implemented in one or more of Habitat’s strategic lines. These are aligned with the company’s objectives of contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as other priorities related to sustainability, social responsibility, etc. Generally, the company makes cash or in-kind donations to contribute fully or partially to the project.
Corporate volunteering: some companies organize their employees to contribute to a social cause. Habitat for Humanity Nicaragua works with these companies to offer their personnel the opportunity to participate in a construction project.
Technical assistance and educational workshops: We offer construction technical assistance (CTA) or financial technical assistance (FTA) services to friendly businesses. The former means that Habitat can advise on housing construction programs for a company’s employees. It also offers advice and workshops in financial education so that your employees are better prepared to manage their finances.
