18 families from communities in San Rafael del Sur will release home this Christmas
Eli and his wife separated when their daughters were barely 2 and 5 years old; he assumed the role of parenting and care of the little ones. It has been 7 years since then and things have not been easy, he has had to work in agriculture, construction assistant, but mainly in the development of brooms.
In the midst of these difficulties, Eli saved money and allied with the Mayor’s Office of San Rafael del Sur and Habitat for Humanity Nicaragua, to build his home. “Before, my house was a little board and I could not leave my girls alone because of how insecure I was, but thanks to the Mayor’s and Habitat program, I can have a decent and safe home for me and my daughters today,” he said with a smile. .
Eli is part of the 18 owners and owners of the second phase of the housing project built in San Rafael del Sur. The houses were delivered on Tuesday, November 26, and the opening ceremony was held today, December 6, in the San Pedro de la Montaña community.
Habitat for Humanity Nicaragua provided technical-financial assistance in the construction of housing. Prior evaluations and field visits were carried out before and during construction, as part of the project follow-up and once the delivery was made with the City Hall to the owners and owners of the houses.
