Cargill in partnership with Glasswing International is providing donations for the purchase of water filters and hygiene kits that will be delivered to families affected by Eta-Iota hurricanes.

A total of U$19,109 were donated by Cargill, so that 350 families from the North Caribbean Coast that were affected by hurricanes Eta-Iota, receive water filters and hygiene kits that allow them to prevent Covid-19. Habitat for Humanity Nicaragua received the check from Ana Zavala, Corporate Responsibility coordinator of Cargill Nicaragua.
The management was carried out in conjunction with Glasswing Nicaragua, in the framework of humanitarian attention “it represents an efficient response to the ravages left by the hurricanes, not only by meeting immediate needs such as hygiene, but also the long-term sanitation of water and mental health of benefited boys and girls ”, expressed Mercedes Pacheco, Education Manager.
“We are super happy and grateful with this alliance between Cargill and Glasswing, because it strengthens our support networks and above all allows us to bring help to those who need it most. We have been in the field and we have seen that the needs continue in the communities, ”said Frank Matus-Aguirre, Country Director of Habitat for Humanity Nicaragua.
Habitat for Humanity Nicaragua is executing an emergency response project, the first phase includes the delivery of water filters and hygiene kits to prevent Covid-19. The second phase is to deliver rebuilding kits that include zinc sheets and a series of tools to carry out safe construction work, and the third is for the construction of safe houses in the areas affected by the hurricanes.
